MāMento comes from three intertwined ideas: light, presence, and people.

The name is the combination of “Mā” and “moment”. Mā in Te Reo Māori is an adjective associated with “clean” or “white”. Together, they simply suggest a moment of light.

“Ma”, in Farsi, means “we”; which turns MāMento into the idea of shared moments that we create together.

MāMento also resonates with the Japanese concept of Ma (間), often described as the space in between, a pause in time, or an intentional emptiness that gives shape and meaning to what surrounds it. That sense of stillness and breathing room fits the way the studio holds space for the real and unforced moments.
